Musings of Some Guy.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas Response Page 3

In the past few chapters, Hunter has been detailing some of the more frightening and disturbing parts of drug use.

Hunter details his response to the discovery of his acid-filled attorney becoming suicidal in a bathtub while listening to the song “White Rabbit”.

He explains how violent some people, like his attorney, can get when under the influence of some substances. He says “You can turn your back on a person, but you can never turn your back on a drug. Especially not when that drug is wielding a razor sharp knife.”*

While many frown upon Thompson’s decisions and actions, I honestly applaud him. Not many people can put their minds and bodies through what he did and come out the other end completely conscious of what they’re doing, let alone still have the patience to write about it in an objective manner, without condoning or condemning their own actions.
