Hunter then goes on a rant about U.S presidents post-Nixon being dishonest puppets who are even worse than Nixon himself (whom Thompson had a raging bias against).
He mentions Muhammad Ali’s refusal to fight in Vietnam, agrees with his reasoning (“No Viet Cong never called me a nigger”), and claims that the same people who tried to make him fight, and the people who voted for the dishonest puppets, were just as bad as the Ku-Klux-Klan and the Nazis.
Hunter Thompson is a complex man with an unpredictable mind, both as a writer and as a main character.
I feel as if the only reason I’ve managed to keep a hold on this far is because I find myself being able to understand and relate to some of his thoughts and feelings, and I get completely captivated following the man’s thought patterns.
